CARE GUIDE

CARE FOR YOUR KINTOBE BAG

We have created this care guide for you, so you know how to take care of your new bag and increase its longevity.

CLEAN THE BAG REGULARLY

Clean the bag regularly with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or stains.

Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as they may discolour or damage the material.

After cleaning  please allow it to air dry with the zippers open in a cool, well-ventilated area.

KEEP THE BAG AWAY FROM HEAVY RAIN OR PROLONGED MOISTURE

Our nylon body fabric is applied with water-repellent coating, but it is not fully waterproof.

If you get caught in long and heavy rain, we recommended that you dry your bag and reapply water-resistant coating once it is completely dry.

RESTORE THE WATER-REPELLENT COATING

Over time, the fabric may lose its water-repellent coating due to use and cleaning.

To restore it, use a water-repellent spray like PFAS-free OrganoTex®, available on our webshop. Reapply regularly to keep your bag protected (we recommend every 6 months).

WATER-REPELLENT COATING APPLICATION

Give your Kintobe bag some love and restore it's water-repellent coating with the PFAS-free OrganoTex®.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Clean the bag with a damp cloth and let it dry.
  2. Protect your surface with a towel or plastic sheet.
  3. Shake the spray well and hold it about 20 cm from the bag.
  4. Spray evenly over the whole bag until the fabric is lightly wet.
  5. Wait 1 minute, then spray again and gently rub it in with a soft cloth.
  6. Wipe off any excess with a clean, dry cloth.
  7. Let it dry completely.

*For best results, use a hair dryer (keep at least 30 cm distance), or air dry for 24 hours.

WATER-REPELLENT OR WATERPROOF?

Water-repellent and waterproof are often used the same way, but they mean different levels of protection. Here’s the difference:

Water-repellent means the fabric resists water, but is not fully waterproof.

It has a special coating (at Kintobe we use C0 WR on the outside and PU 1500 mm + PU x2 on the inside) that makes water bead up and roll off instead of soaking in. This provides good protection in light to moderate rain, but the effect can wear off over time.

Waterproof means the material does not let any water in, even in heavy rain or when fully submerged. For example, a waterproof watch can be used while swimming or diving without damage.
