Sidewalk Collection

Sidewalk Collection is our second and most sustainable collection to date. We are so proud of it that we challenge you to find similar bags that are more recycled than ours.

Taking sustainability to a new level

Average sustainable bag brands use recycled materials for the outer material and sometimes for the lining, but they usually forget about the other parts of the bag such as straps, buckles, nets, etc. We have worked hard to find recycled alternatives for as many of these parts as possible in the collection. This is part of our ambition to become more and more sustainable for each collection and, over time, be able to make a 100% sustainable bag.

Materials used in Sidewalk Collection

Water-repellent coating

Treating our collection with a water-repellent coating has been a dilemma for us. On the one hand, water-repellent materials are a necessity when living in a country like Denmark. On the other hand, water-repellent coating is not environmentally friendly. We have decided to prioritize the environment, and have therefore chosen the most environmentally friendly coating available, called C6 DWR. It is PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) and PFOS (perfluorooctanesulfonic acid) free, which are acid chemicals that, among other things, cause cancer and are hard for nature to decompose. The disadvantage of the C6 DWR compared to the alternatives is that the coating is not nearly as effective. It's a compromise we felt we had to make.
